Pediatric Care

Complete chiropractic care should start shortly after birth. During the birthing process, the newborn baby's spine can become misaligned causing alterations in the flow of the nervous system. This can manifest itself as a many different conditions seen in newborns, including colic, spitting up, problems with suck reflex and more. When they learn to crawl and walk they take many spills and falls that can cause spinal misalignments. Chiropractic care should continue through elementary and high school as children become active in sports and other school activities. Our doctors specialize in child care and are able to treat a variety of conditions.

DOT Physicals and Drug Screening

Our doctors are nationally certified to perform DOT physicals and random drug screening services through the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. They offer very flexible scheduling, including Saturday mornings and same day appointments.

Non-Surgical Decompression

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a revolutionary new technology used primarily to treat disc injuries in the neck and in the low back. It is very effective at treating bulging discs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, radiating arm pain, degenerative disc disease, leg pain, and facet syndromes. The treatment option is very safe and utilizes FDA cleared equipment to apply distraction forces to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Distraction is offset by cycles of partial relaxation. This technique of spinal decompression therapy has shown the ability to gently separate the vertebrae from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs that we are targeting. This "vacuum effect" is also known as negative intra-discal pressure.

The cycles of decompression and partial relaxation, over a series of visits, promote the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients enable the torn and degenerated disc fibers to begin to heal.

For the low back, the patient lies comfortably on his/her back on the decompression table, with a set of nicely padded straps snug around the waist and another set around the lower chest. For the neck, the patient lies comfortably on his/her back with a pair of soft rubber pads behind the neck. Many patients enjoy the treatment, as it is usually quite comfortable and well tolerated.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment where a device is used to pass acoustic waves or “pressure pulses” through the skin to the affected area. It stimulates and accelerates the body’s own healing for conditions such as tendinopathies, trigger points, chronic strains, etc. It can have an immediate reduction in pain and increased range of motion. Common conditions treated include:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Shin splints
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Golfer's/tennis elbow
  • Calcified shoulder tendinitis
  • Piriformis syndrome

Functional Health Testing

With the exception of trauma, which causes visible signs like bruising, the body breaks down on the inside before it breaks down on the outside. This means that a lot of our everyday aches and pains stem from the inside of the body.  Simple assessment tools and testing can give an accurate picture of what the internal environment of the body looks like. Functional Health Testing at Minser Chiropractic utilizes functional biomarkers to assess the overall health of your body's systems.

This testing uses two scientifically grounded principles. First, add what is lacking in the body to nudge it back to a state of optimal functioning. Second, remove anything that prevents the body from moving toward its optimal state of function. Physical assessments and a history, along with urine and saliva testing, performed and evaluated at Minser Chiropractic, are used to help identify underlying dysfunction or imbalance of bodily systems. This information is then reviewed with you by the doctors of chiropractic to determine what can be done to improve your body's health and performance. The doctor of chiropractic will develop a custom nutrition plan to effectively address your health goals.

Functional Health Testing involves understanding and finding the underlying cause of an illness, evaluating the whole person...not just a body part. This allows us to use natural, effective, evidence based therapies whenever possible. Functional Health Testing plays an important role in health care and continues to gain popularity. Our society is experiencing a sharp increase in the number of people who suffer from complex, chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, mental illness and arthritis. This test is for anyone wanting to improve their health, athletic performance, or find the underlying cause of their health problems.

What is Chiropractic?

In 1895, chiropractic started by a single adjustment on a deaf janitor that restored his hearing. Since then many more studies and research have validated the importance of spinal health through chiropractic adjustments. A chiropractic adjustment is a low force pressure administered to a specific joint, most of the time to the bones of the spine. However, the joints of the arms and legs and even jaw may be involved also. Here at Minser Chiropractic Clinic, every adjustment is tailored to each individual, from infants to geriatrics.

Man's Body Pain Check-up — St. Cloud, MN — Minser Chiropractic Clinic

Without a normal nerve supply, affected organs and tissues are more susceptible to injury and disease. This can produce the symptoms of pain and ill health. Neck, mid back, lower back pain, and headaches can often be traced to spinal misalignments and nervous system interference. The chiropractic adjustment helps to normalize spinal function and restore normal communication of the nervous system through the spinal nerves. When the nervous system function improves in this way, the body can begin the healing process and restore normal body functions. Each day millions of patients worldwide experience the benefits of chiropractic.

All the doctors at Minser Chiropractic Clinic have gone through 8 years of college to obtain their undergraduate degree and their doctorate of chiropractic. These doctors continue to update their education by attending classes and seminars yearly. With all this education, the doctor of chiropractic is your specialist when it comes to spinal dysfunction. The best experiences we feel as doctors of chiropractic are the gratitude we receive when a colicky baby no longer cries for no reason, leg pain is gone, and headaches no longer are present. These are just a small fraction of conditions chiropractic can help.
